Your Bell Tent
We hope this answers all your questions but if you need any further information please just drop us a line.

We look forward to seeing you soon!.

Bell Tent Details
Your Bell Tent sleeps up to six people (max of four adults).  The tent will have either one double futon, two single futons and two foam chair beds, or two douvblbe futins nf two foam chair beds.

The tents are fully carpeted with rugs and some funky soft furishings and are a perfect space for relaxed snoozing in the great outdoors. There are twinkly solar fairy lights nf a lamp for you to use at night.

Your tent comes with a BBQ and outdoor picnic bench and there is oodles of space out front for outdoor loafing.

All of our Bell Tents are located in the Upper Field so you will need to park your car in the dedicated area for parking.  Parking for one car per tent is included for the duration of your stay. Additional parking spaces can be purchased for £5 per car, per day.

What You Need to Bring
Although made of lovely thick canvas beds, with carpeted floors and comfy futons, please be aware that this is still camping so prepare for all weathers!  The following are essential for enjoying your Bell Tent stay:
  • Bedding and pillows
  • A torch for  moving about after dark
  • .Cups, plates and BBQ utensils

Parking

Your Bell Tent booking includes parking for one car.  We share our car park with the Country Park and there are parking enforcement cameras in  use.  Because of this it is very important that all guests check in at reception before pitching so we can enter your reg number and put your car on a parking permit for the duration of your stay.  Extra car parking spaces can be purchased at  cost of £5 per day.  Stick by these simple rues and all will be ok, however if there are any problems with parking (cars not registered will automatically be sent a fine, which we have no control over) please contact us in the first instance.

Visitors to the site

If you have friends in the area they are welcome to visit you at the campsite, but please let us know in advance as there is a maximum number of people we allow on site and it is not always possible to accommodate visitors.

There is a charge of £5 per car for all visitors or £2 per person if there is no car.  This includes the cost of parking. All guests must be off site by 10pm and we regret that if you have visitors which have not been checked into site then your whole party may be asked to leave the campsite with no refund.

Please note that your Bell Tent has a maximum capacity of 4 adults and 2 under 16s at any one time.

Camping Code

We promote family-friendly, low impact camping, so please respect our Country Park location.  We are not a party site so no amplified music please, quiet enjoyment after 10pm and, whilst we love a good ale as much as anyone, if drinking to excess is going to form a large part of your weekend then we are not the site for you!

We basically ask that you respect the countryside and your fellow campers, and we staff the site at all times to make sure that no one person is spoiling another's holiday with inconsiderate behaviour.  Please see our Camping Code page for more info.  Thanks for your help with this!

What's On during your stay?

From on site visits from the Wood Fired Pizza van to beer, arts, puppet and outdoor sports festivals in the Country Park, Norwich and beyond, there's always plenty to do in and around Whitlingham.

Click the link on the left and use our interactive calendar to find out what's on when you're here.

Things You Might Like to Bring
These are not essentials - but they might make your stay extra special:
  • Camping stove for a morning brew (outside use only please)
  • Games (though we have some to borrow at reception)
  • Ice box (we can 'recharge' ice packs at reception for a small fee)
  • A massive smile, a good book and a sense of adventure!

What to do When You (inevitably!) Forget Something
Don't panic!  Our campsite shop sells a few camping essentials (pegs, Camping Gaz cartridges, marshmallows etc) and in the summer we have a small selection of local fruit and veg, bread, biscuits, drinks and ice creams.

Beyond the site, there is a cafe just across the road (2 mins walk) and the village shop (20 mins stroll) sells all the essentials.  For bigger shops, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsburys are all no more than a 15 minute drive from the site.

Fire Pits & BBQs

Fire pits and BBQs are welcome, but if bringing your own fire pit please make sure that it is raised a minimum off the floor so as not to damage our grass. We rent fire pits and grills for a small fee (details below).

In order to protect our environment, we do not allow disposable BBQs at all on site. Please leave them at home (or just don't buy one!).

Any party having a fire pit (either one rented from us or their own) must agree to and sign our fire policy.  This is a simple set of rules to make sure that everyone enjoys a campfire in a safe and responsible manner.  Marshmallow toasting is obligatory (with the exception of veggies)!

Rent a Fire Pit
We love a good campfire here at Whitlingham, and you are welcome to bring your own fire pit or you can rent one from us for just £3 - we can sort this out on your arrival.  Our shop also stocks firewood, charcoal and of course, marshmallows for toasting!!

All booking s are subject to our T&C's. Please note; we are a family friendly, relaxed campsite and not a party site; we ask that you please respect our terms and conditions.
